The construction of buildings
on reclaimed marshland, past dumpsites, and river
or coastal shorelines frequently requires the
use of pile foundations to avoid excessive settlement
and structural damage. Waterfront projects may
also require piles to resist lateral forces from
wind
and waves.
NE&C utilizes the information obtained from
geotechnical investigations of the project site
to develop pile design criteria and construction
implementation recommendations. Our engineers
prepare pile driving specifications, then monitor
the pile installation and load tests to verify
design assumptions. NE&C's geotechnical engineers
have been responsible for the design and installation
of thousands of piles in a multitude of soil conditions.
We are unique in our capability to provide multi-disciplinary
pile foundation design via in-house waterfront,
marine, geotechnical, and structural engineering
resources.
