NE&C has extensive experience in the design and permitting of recreational marinas and mooring systems. Marina design encompasses boat maneuvering and depth requirements which often require dredging plans. NE&C conducts location vulnerability and stability analysis to orient slips or entrances. When weather and wave action are a concern, floating breakwaters and wave attenuators are designed.

Most marinas have a service business requiring a waterfront capable of accommodating hauling and service providers. NE&C designs travel lifts, boat ramps, fueling stations, and waste pumpout facilities to service marina slips. The support facilities must fit into the design of the marina without creating conflicts in boat movements and berthing. NE&C has undertaken and succeeded at the most complex permitting of marinas at the local, State, and Federal levels.
